Chapter 6: Probation, Promotion, and Retirement
The first half of the story is told — birth, hiring, onboarding, settling in. This chapter covers what comes after an agent is on the job: how it gets verified, how it grows, how it moves, how it exits.
Evals are the probation period; they test job competence, not rank on a model leaderboard. Performance is judged from the work record, not from impressions. Growth mostly happens outside the weights. In a transfer or a promotion, some things move with the agent and some can't be relocated intact. And taking an agent offline is not just killing a process — it's a departure with a process of its own.
